“Marvel Racks Up 19 Emmy Nominations, Moon Knight Leads the Way With Eight Noms”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is having another big year at the Emmys, despite zero recognition for the actors of the respective series’. Four shows were nominated this year, including Loki, Moon Knight, What If…?, and Hawkeye. Moon Knight is leading the MCU this year with Eight nominations. These include Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Sci/Fi Costumes, Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited/Anthology Series/Movie/Special, Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance, and Outstanding Stunt Performance, to name a few.

Moon Knight began airing on Disney+ on March 30th and was received well by audiences and critics. The story follows Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), who’s been granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god. However, he soon finds out that his newfound powers can be both a blessing and a curse to his troubled life. Throughout the series, Grant deals with Dissociative Identity Disorder, forcing Oscar Isaac to essentially play three parts throughout the series. Fans of Moon Knight believed the actor deserved a nomination for his work on the project. However, it seems the Emmys have overlooked the talent associated with the roles in all the MCU TV series.
