#March Comes In like a Lion Manga’s Long-awaited 16th Volume Set for Release in September 2021

 

 

Japanese manga artist Chika Umino has announced on her official Twitter account that the long-awaited next 16th volume of her shogi-themed manga Sangatsu no Lion / March Comes in Like a Lion is finally set to be released in Japan in the end of September 2021. It will have been 21 months since the previous 15th volume.

 

The manga has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal since 2007 and has printed more than three million copies. It has been also critically acclaimed, winning the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize’s Grand Prize in 2014 and the manga division’s Grand Prix of the 24th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2021. Its TV anime adaptation produced by Shaft was aired for two seasons from 2016 to 2018, and its two-part live actin film adaptation were released in Japan in 2017.

 

Umino writes on Twitter, “It’s going to get hotter and hotter as we head into summer. Just when the heat is making us wonder, ‘How long it will last…,’ the 16th volume of ‘March Comes In like a Lion’ will be released! Around the end of September, all the lions will visit you again. Until then, let’s stay healthy!”
