A man on Long Island was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening to open fire at a Jewish children’s camp over a social distancing complaint, police said.

Nicola Pelle, 58, is accused of directing the threat at Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island children’s camp in Inwood, claiming to police that roughly 500 students were without face masks, News 12 reported.

Pelle, an Inwood resident, called police twice with his complaint.

In his second call, he allegedly told cops, “If I’ve got to go out there with a friggin’ machine gun and shoot all these people, I will,” Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said.

During the investigation into the alleged threat, Pelle identified himself as the caller and was arrested, police said.

Police said Pelle has a valid pistol permit. The authorities seized five handguns, along with rifles and shotguns from the suspect.

The suspect was charged with making a terroristic threat and hit with several counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
