#Man killed, 8 more wounded in overnight gunplay across NYC

One New Yorker was killed and another left critically injured in a spate of overnight shootings in the Bronx and Brooklyn that left seven others hurt.

In the most serious incident, a 34-year-old man was shot and killed at the corner of 167th Street and Boston Road, said police, who released few details of the homicide. A second victim, 54, suffered minor injuries. 

Bullets began flying around midnight when a man was shot in the left thigh at Grant Avenue and 163rd Street in the Bronx, police said.

By 2 a.m. near Lexington and Tompkins Avenues in Brooklyn, a 35-year-old man was shot in the rear, according to police.

About 45 minutes later, another man was shot during a push-in robbery on Tinton Avenue in the Bronx. A pair of perps forced their way inside the man’s home, stole an iPhone and a safe which had cash inside, police said.

The next victim was reported at 3:23 a.m. when a man walked into BronxCare Hospital Center Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to his left leg, police said.

And about an hour after that, gunfire erupted on White Plains Road in the Bronx, leaving a 42-year-old man riddled with bullets and fighting for his life, police said. The victim is being treated at Jacobi Hospital, where he may not survive, police said. One person was arrested in the violence, said cops, who did not identify the suspect.

The next gunshot report came in at 6 a.m. when a 38-year-old man walked into Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with a bullet wound to his right leg.

Thirty minutes later, more violence ensued in Brooklyn, where an attacker shot a woman in the left and stabbed a man in the stomach. Both victims were taken to Brookdale.
