#Man allegedly punched in NYC for wearing Star of David necklace

A man claims he was assaulted in Hell’s Kitchen because he was wearing a Star of David necklace — a gift from his beloved grandfather.

Ike Tobias, 29, was walking with his wife after they showed up to a rally over the fighting in Gaza when he was approached by a “Palestinian” man who broke away from a larger nearby group.

“ ‘What is that around your neck, does that make you a f—-g Zionist?’ ” the attacker allegedly said before slugging Tobias in the face.

“I wasn’t expecting that, walking down the street,” Tobias told The Post at his home in Brooklyn. “It happened before I could react. It was all for nothing. For wearing a necklace.”

The NYPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Tobias refused medical treatment at the scene. After the assailant took off, Tobias and his wife ducked into a nearby Duane Reade, he said.

Tobias told The Post he was determined to keeping wearing the necklace, which was a gift from his grandfather, also named Ike.

The incident took place as anti-Semitic hate crimes are rising in the city.
