Night Court viewers will notice a change in Abby’s courtroom when the sitcom’s second season resumes next week.

Starring Melissa Rauch, India de Beaufort, Kapil Talwalkar, Lacretta, and John Larroquette, the NBC comedy follows Abby (Raunch), the daughter of Harry Stone, as she takes over as the judge for the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court.

Talwalkar, who played Neil Valluri, the court’s insecure clerk, has departed the NBC comedy series, per Deadline. Season one had started to tease a romance between Abby and Neil as her romance fizzled. Producers have reportedly decided to take the show in a different direction, resulting in Talwalkar leaving the show.

Season two of Night Court kicked off on December 23rd, with the comedy moving into its regular Tuesday night time slot on January 2nd.
