Nippon Columbia’s official YouTube channel has posted a three-minute music video for “∞Ribbon wo Gyutto∞ (Gunma-chan Dance),” a new dance song for the official mascot character of Gunma Prefecture, Gunma-chan, sung by voice actress Aya Uchida (Kotori Minami in Love Live!). She was born in the prefecture in 1986 and has served as its tourism ambassador.
The cute song was performed for the first time at the character’s birthday event held on February 22, 2021, then digitally released on March 3. The music video was filmed with Uchida, Gunma-chan, and dancers from the Tokyo School of Music and Dance. It features catchy choreography such as the “crane pose” that pays homage to Jomo Karuta, which is familiar to residents of the prefecture. Let’s learn the song and dance together!
