#Long line of voters waiting to cast ballots in tight Engel-Bowman primary

Voters waited in an hours-long line outside a Yonkers polling site Tuesday night to help decide the hard-fought Democratic primary election between veteran Rep. Eliot Engel and insurgent Jamaal Bowman in the 16th congressional district encompassing parts of the Bronx and Westchester.

“The line to vote right now at Yonkers High School,” Bowman, a former middle school principal tweeted along with a video showing long lines of socially distanced voters waiting outside to vote.

Meanwhile Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who endorsed Bowman over fellow incumbent Engel, retweeted Bowman’s video and noted long lines at a large polling site in her Bronx-Queens 14th congressional district.

“We are seeing reports of voting lines as long as 3 hours in LeFrak City as well,” AOC said of the polling site at the massive Queens apartment complex.

“Other poll sites are much faster. If you can, STAY IN LINE!,” said the first-term congressman , who faces a spirited primary challenge from former business journalist and CNBC host Michelle Caruso-Cabrera.
