“Long Island police searching for Yansis Sierra-Mejia and infant son Diego Sierra-Flores”
Police are searching for a missing Long Island mother and her 1-year-old son, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The baby, Diego Sierra-Flores, was last seen at his home on April 1 in Hempstead. He was reported missing on April 6, cops said on Thursday.
Diego is believed to be with his mother, 25-year-old Yansis Sierra-Mejia.
The two may have traveled to Virginia, police said.
Police described Diego as about 2 feet tall and approximately 25 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Sierra-Mejia is described as 5 feet and 4 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes with an unknown clothing description.
Detectives request anyone with information to call the Nassau County Police Department Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347.
