“Live from EBBS Brewing Co. feat. Tommy Hunter”

Mets

Live from New York, it’s Monday night!

Nelson Figueroa and I recorded our first live “Amazin’ But True” podcast from EBBS Brewing Co. next to Citi Field on Monday prior to the Mets’ series finale against the Marlins. We broke down the weekend in Mets land, injury updates, Seth Lugo’s struggles, answer questions from fans and give the audience some Mets trivia questions. We close the show with a conversation on the field with Mets relief pitcher Tommy Hunter.

‘Amazin’ But True’ LIVE Podcast with Jake & Figgie from EBBS Brewing Co. outside Citi Field:

  • SERIES WIN/LINDOR: Mets take three of four from the Marlins. Francisco Lindor had an emotional Friday with his mom there for the first time in a Mets uniform. This team continues to have fun storylines to root for. Lindor is the star for this team and has been playing like it.
  • MAX SCHERZER: He will make a rehab start on Tuesday. There is a chance we see him on Sunday. Mets need him with Tylor Megill out for a while and now David Peterson expected to be on the paternity list in the coming days. James McCann is also going to be back within the next week.
  • SETH LUGO/DOM SMITH: Lugo spoke with Figgie on the field before Monday’ game. He was put on the paternity list. In the next three days at some point, he will have his second child. Lugo gave up a grand slam Sunday. Has dealt with a lot at home with his son going through surgery and now a second son on the way. Dom Smith called up to take his spot. This is a big month ahead for Smith, who could be the odd man out if the Mets look to make a trade for another bat.
  • FAN QUESTIONS: Where is Bartolo Colon? Figgie says there is a chance you see him at some point for a game for the Staten Island Ferryhawks. What is the biggest Mets need before the trade deadline? Which prospects will we potentially see in Queens before the end of the season?

Tommy Hunter Interview:

  • COMING BACK: Ready to go. It was a long road back. Done swinging the bat. Didn’t know you can be in that much pain.
  • SOMETHING SPECIAL: They’re not scared. There’s only one common goal in mind and that’s to raise the chip at the end of the year.
