#LiSA's New Single "Homura" and New Album "LEO-NiNE" Dominate Japan's CD Sales Charts

According to the latest Oricon sales report, both of anison singer LiSA's 17th single "Homura" and fifth album "LEO-NiNE," which were simultaneously released in Japan on October 14, 2020, ranked No.1 in the weekly CD sales charts.

"Homura" sold an impressive 68,000 units in its first week, which was 2.5 times more than the first-week sales number of her previous 16th single "unlasting" released in December 2019. The epic ballad composed by Yuki Kajiura is now featured as the theme song for the anime feature film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train and is expected become her next top-selling song following "Gurenge," the OP theme song for the Demon Slayer TV anime.

Meanwhile, "LEO-NiNE," sold 66,000 units in its first week, which was also 2.3 times more than the first-week sales of her previous fourth album "LiTTLE DEViL PARADE" released in May 2017. The 13-song album includes her recent three single songs – "Akai Wana (who loves it?)/ADAMAS" (double A-side 14th single) and "Gurenge" (15th single) -, as well as her latest digital single song "Aijou," which was used as the theme song for the  TV drama 13.

She has become the first singer who dominated both charts at the same time in the Reiwa era and the first female singer to do so in 16 years and six months since Utada Hikaru in May 2004. She says, "I'm so happy that both of my album 'LEO-NiNE' and single 'Homura' have been received so well. I'm glad to have my name etched in the great history following all the magnificent artists who have made the era."
