Atlanta Attorney General Fani T. Willis has dropped all charges against Lil Durk including attempted murder stemming from a 2019 incident that also ensnared the late King Von, an artist signed to Durk’s label Only The Family. The news was first reported by WSB-TV on Saturday evening (October 22).

The incident took place at an Atlanta restaurant called The Varsity in the days following the Super Bowl in 2019. Local police issued several arrest warrants for Durk — the charges included criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and for unlawful association with a gang in the participation of a crime.

As the charges were revealed, Durk promptly announced on Instagram that he was surrendering to the police. He declared his innocence in a song called “Turn Myself In” shared on his SoundCloud.

Manny Aurora, an attorney for Durk (real name Durk Banks) issued a statement to WSB-TV: “While it took three years for the State to make the right decision, in the end the right decision was made and Mr. Banks can finally put this event behind him.”

The FADER has reached out to Lil Durk’s representative for more information.
