An early-round match at the Monte Carlo Masters took a nasty turn with one of the player’s girlfriend dragged into an on court-argument.
Pablo Carreno Busta dispatched Stefano Travaglia 7-5, 7-6 in the clay court match, but the real fireworks occurred at the net.
Travaglia was upset that the Spaniard’s coach was clapping in the middle of a point, but Carreno Busta responded by insisting that Travaglia’s girlfriend was saying “si” during a rally.
Then, according to TSN reporter Michael Gallo, Travaglia said to the umpire, “You understand what he say? No respect for my girlfriend.”
The Italian Travaglia has been in a long-term relationship with Maria Paolo, who is a law student and model, according to her Instagram page.
