Holy cow, the latest LEGO set is a fully functional globe. Designed by LEGO fan Guillaume Roussel, the LEGO Globe adds an air of sophistication to any room with its old-school nautical design and incredible use of LEGO bricks. It’s available on February 1st for $200.

Like the LEGO Grand Piano and ISS sets, the Globe is one of many fan-created sets to achieve an official release through the LEGO Ideas program. It features 2,565 pieces, including some printed parts to label oceans and continents, plus a functional mechanism to let it spin like a “real” globe.

And in case a LEGO globe doesn’t stand out enough, the printed parts for this set are glow in the dark. It’s an interesting addition that could help inspire young people to learn more about Earth, its continents, and its oceans.

I should also note that the LEGO Globe is fairly customizable, as it uses common parts. You could use this set to build a custom planet, for example, or even erase Florida from the United States like Bugs Bunny.

The LEGO Globe set launches February 1st for $200. You can order it directly from the LEGO website when it’s available, or sign up for our newsletter for an alert on February 1st.
