#Lance Armstrong’s son accused of sexually assaulting teen girl in 2018

The son of disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong was arrested in Texas this week for allegedly sexually assaulting a teen girl, a report said Wednesday.

Luke Armstrong, 21, allegedly drove the 16-year-old girl to his dad’s Austin home and assaulted her in 2018. He was 18 at the time, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KXAN.

His accuser reported the incident to police last November, alleging the assault happened after a party when Luke picked her up because she had been drinking, the report said.

She claimed not to remember the drive, but woke up as Luke was allegedly sexually assaulting her on a couch at his dad’s home.

Luke allegedly admitted to having sex with his accuser in a phone call with her last December, the affidavit says.

An attorney for Armstrong, Randy Leavitt, has denied the allegations and told the news outlet that Luke and the girl had been in a months-long consensual relationship.

“What occurred three years ago in high school was not a crime and was not a sexual assault. It was a consensual relationship then and continued consensually between two young people with both ultimately going their separate ways,” Leavitt said

“It wasn’t a one-time thing,” Leavitt said. “They had something of a relationship going on for a brief period of time.”

Multiple people associated with the girl who were interviewed by the Austin Police Department during their investigation said she had indicated she’d been sexually assaulted.

But, according to the affidavit, one friend told police the sex was consensual.

Luke was released on a personal recognizance bond at his Tuesday arraignment, his attorney told the news station.

His family is actively working to gather evidence they say will dispute his accuser’s claims, the lawyer said.
