#Lakers’ Dennis Schroder takes Kyrie Irving feud into his closet

Lakers guard Dennis Schroder is purging his closet of Kyrie Irving sneakers.

Schroder, in a new video posted to his YouTube channel on Sunday, made the admission while sharing a close-up look at his sneaker collection. He alluded that he made the choice after his in-game confrontation with the Nets point guard in April.

At the 8:37 mark, he grabs one of Irving’s signature Nike sneakers and sighs before saying, “Unfortunately I can’t wear them no more, it’s not possible after what happened in the game.”

Before that, Schroder noted that he has 30-40 pairs of Irving’s sneakers.

“I can not do it, not going to wear it again,” he vowed. “We will do giveaways, for everyone who wants them I’ll donate so text me.”

Schroder, who wears a size 12, informed viewers that he’ll donate every color-way of Irving’s sneakers he owns.

While Schroder didn’t get into detail about “what happened in the game,” he was likely referencing the April 10 matchup between the Lakers and Nets, when the guards got in each other’s faces early on in the third quarter.

Schroder became frustrated that Irving wasn’t being called for a foul during a one-on-one interaction, which led to a heated exchange between the two. The confrontation ended in matching technicals and ejections for both Schroder and Irving.

The Lakers ended up defeating the Nets, 126-101.

Irving, whose shoes are popular among many NBA players, including Celtics star Jayson Tatum, has yet to respond to Schroder.
