#Kyoto Animation To Stream Memorial Video on YouTube

18 July marks one year since the incident at Kyoto Animation. Due to the ongoing COVID-19, Kyoto Animation canceled an in-person memorial visit and will instead stream a memorial video on it’s official YouTube channel. 

The stream will begin at 10:30 AM JST on 18 July. 

The company’s website relesaed a translated statement:

Regarding the decline of the memorial visit on July 18

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued concern.

It has been almost a year since the incident occurred on July 18 of 2019.

We had been making preparations to hold a memorial visit for all of our friends; however, in light of the current circumstances with the COVID-19, sadly, we had concluded to cancel the event with the aim of prevention of gathering.

Due to these circumstances, we also would like to ask for your refrain in visiting the former site of our 1st Studio. We appreciate your consideration of the transportation system and local residents.

As a substitute, we are going to stream the memorial video on the day on our official YouTube channel online.

*Streamed in Japanese only.

Saturday, July 18, 2020 (10:30-10:40)

*A moment of silence will be held from 10:35

Streamed on YouTube’s KyoaniChannel

*The video will be available throughout the day after the streaming.
