“Will they kill me, do you think?”
Kristen Stewart, playing the late Princess Diana of Wales, asks the sensational and ominous question in the newest trailer for director Pablo Larraín’s royal biopic “Spencer.”
Stewart, 31, shines in the two-minute clip in which she rocks Diana’s iconic gowns, dramatic hats, colorful pantsuits and sparkling jewels.
However, Diana spends much of the teaser looking sad, alone and forlorn in the chilling footage.
“You have to be able to do things you hate. There has to be two of you,” Prince Charles (Jack Farthing) says to a scared Diana. “The real one. And the one they take pictures of.”
A young Prince William even asks her in one scene, “Mommy, what’s happened to make you so sad?”
“There’s no hope for me,” Diana says by the end of the clip. “Not with them.”

The official film summary details a “few fateful days” that the movie centers around. “The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. ‘Spencer’ is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.”

The “Twilight Saga” star revealed at the Toronto International Film Festival that she took the part without reading the script for “Spencer.”
“[Pablo] called me on the phone,” she said. “At first I hadn’t read the script yet, and he proposed this idea and said he was doing this sort of weird tone poem about Diana, and asked whether or not I would be interested in tackling the subject at all, before he sent the script. Kind of without thinking, very irresponsibly, I said ‘Yes, absolutely…’ In the moment right before I was going to say, in a word, yes or no, I was like ‘Who are you if you don’t say yes?’”
The drama drops Nov. 5 and also stars the talents of Timothy Spall, Sean Harris and Sally Hawkins.
