“Kokyu no Karasu Trailer Reveals October 1 Premiere”

The Kokyu no Karasu anime adaptation has received a new trailer, which reveals an October 1 premiere date and previews more of the show’s cast, including Nobunaga Shimazaki as Onkei and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Onkai.

The anime also received a key visual and new staff information. The newly revealed staff includes Norifumi Nakamura (Amaim: Warrior at the Borderline) as art director, Ritsuko Utagawa (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time) as color designer, and Arimasa Watanabe (Misaki no Mayoiga) as photography director.

Kokyu no Karasu is based on the light novels written by Kouko Shirakawa and illustrated by Ayuko, which began in 2018 and have seven volumes as of April 21, 2022. The books are published under the Shueisha Orange Bunko label.

The story revolves around Jusetsu, a woman who is the current Uhi, a special concubine that dwells within the inner palace but doesn’t attend to the emperor. The Uhi is perceived by some as an old lady, and by others as a young girl. She is also said to have special abilities that allow her to tackle various tasks, ranging from casting curses to finding lost objects. One day, the emperor visits her to make a request, unaware of the consequences of their meeting.

The anime’s staff includes Chizuru Miyawaki (Gintama: The Final) as director, Satomi Oshima (Hataraki Man) as series composer, Shinji Takeuchi (Gintama: The Finalas character designer, and Asami Tachibana (Moriarty the Patriot) as music composer. BN Pictures is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Saku Mizuno as Jusetsu Ryu, Masaaki Mizunaka as Koshun Ka, Taku Yashiro as Eisei, and Marika Kouno as Jiu Jiu.
