We’ve encountered a ton of neat smart home products at CES 2022, including a robot vacuum mop that’s not a pain in the neck and an Alexa version of Lenovo’s best smart display. But Kohler deserves some recognition too, because it’s showing off some of the weirdest smart home devices we’ve ever seen.
The big new product in Kohler’s catalog is the PerfectFill smart bath controller, a Wi-Fi connected drain and valve system that automatically fills a bath to your specifications. It’s honestly a neat idea, especially for parents that want to draw a bath with a quick Alexa or Google voice command while chasing down their kid. Unfortunately, PerfectFill will cost $2700 when it launches later this year, and that doesn’t include the price of installation or a compatible Kohler tub.
We also got a second look at the Kohler Stillness Bath, a standalone tub that debuted at last year’s CES. The Stillness Bath is basically a smart spa, with extra controls for steam and ambient lighting. It costs a whopping $8000 and goes on sale in the coming months.
What, the smart bath and spa aren’t weird enough for you? How about Kohler’s new Purist Suspend kitchen faucet, which hangs from the ceiling and features a Bluetooth hockey-puck dial to control flow and temperature? Or the new Kohler Touchless Residential Bathroom Faucets, which are just $200 motion-sensing faucets that run on batteries for easy home installation?
Maybe you’re looking for something even weirder—Kohler’s got you covered. The company has a new Robern IQ Digital Lock Box, which is really just a smart safe for your medicine cabinet. It costs $450, but hey, it can alert you when it’s opened!
Admittedly, a few of Kohler’s new products aren’t all that weird. The company teamed up with Phyn to make H2Wise and H2Wise Plus, which install under your sink to monitor water usage and alert you of soon-to-be problems, like frozen pipes. They launch in January for $400 and $667, respectively.
We don’t know exactly when any of Kohler’s new smart home products will launch, but you can sign up for notifications to learn when the Stillness Bath and Purist Suspend kitchen faucet go on sale.
