Netflix is continuing its themed Geeked Week of virtual announcements for its programming slate, with a heavy focus on anime for todays slate of announcements. Unless otherwise noted, the titles listed will be released globally on given release dates.
The next entry in the Gundam series is coming.

The first major anime-related announcement is the acquisition of the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway feature film. The film was hit with another theatrical release delay in Japan last month, due to the ongoing COVID-19 State of Emergency in many major cities and prefectures. The film is slated for Netflix release on July 1st, according to the Netflix Anime trailer on YouTube.

The Shaman King reboot TV anime will at last see a global release on August 9th, after exclusively premiering first in Japan and selected international territories earlier this year on Netflix in April.

The anime adaptation of the Edens Zero manga authored by Hiro Mashima hits Netflix globally beginning on August 26th, much sooner than the previously announced Fall 2021 release.

For a new announcement, Netflix has announced the forthcoming release of a new anime by Hirotaka Adachi and famed illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, titled ‘Exception’. More details are expected in the future.

The second original anime announcement is a new anime film titled Make My Day. More details are expected in the future.
