#Knicks won’t say how COVID-19 stricken Alec Burks is feeling

Knicks head coach Thom Thibodeau wouldn’t say how Alec Burks (COVID-19) is feeling. Burks missed his fourth straight game Wednesday.

If Burks complies with the CDC’s 10-day quarantine for the asymptomatic, he won’t be back until either Monday versus the Suns or Wednesday against the Bulls.

Thibodeau has filled the gap by either using Frank Ntilikina for defense or Kevin Knox for offense, though both saw only brief action Wednesday, as the Knicks beat the Hawks 137-127 in overtime.

“Alec is in safety and health protocol with the league,’’ Thibodeau said when asked how he’s feeling. “Kevin and Frank have done a good job staying ready. They came in early every day with the early group. It’s situational from there. Whatever we need. That’s the way we go. Whether we need a catch-and-shoot defender [or] more shooting against the zone. Whatever we need. That’s what I like about our team is the depth. We usually have an answer on the bench.’’

Recently named Indiana University coach Mike Woodson attended the game, received a video tribute and was introduced, receiving warm cheers.

Woodson left his Knicks assistant coach job to take the post in late March. Woodson was former head coach of both the Knicks and Hawks.
