“Kizuna Ai Anime Reveals 1st Trailer, WIT STUDIO and SIGNAL.MD As Production Studios”

The Kizuna Ai TV anime Kizuna no Allele has received a new visual and its first trailer, with the latter previewing the show’s plot and main characters. It was also revealed that WIT STUDIO and SIGNAL.MD are co-producing the show.

Additionally, cast, staff, and more plot details were released along with visuals of the characters and their respective avatars.

Kizuna no Allele will follow the previously announced protagonist Miracle as she enrols at ADEN Academy, a specialized school for aspiring virtual talents, in the hopes of becoming a virtual artist like Kizuna Ai. As for Ai’s status in the anime, the official synopsis explains:

Kizuna AI appeared like a comet in the virtual world, becoming massively popular in the blink of an eye.
After five consecutive years of gracing the Lapin Doll—the highest honor of the Virtual Grid Awards—she disappeared as quickly as she came.
Several months have passed since then…

Ayumi Hinohara is playing the role of Miracle. The other cast members include Lina Kawaguchi as Quan, Hikari Kodama as Chris, Yuka Nukui as Noelle, Arisa Hanawa as Riz, and Kizuna Ai as herself.

Kenichiro Komaya (Yo-Kai Watch Shadowside Oni-ou no Fukkatsu assistant director) is directing the show with Deko Akao (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) as series composer, Shiori Asaka (Dragon Goes HouseHunting co-character designer) and Niina Morita (Dragon Goes HouseHunting setting production) as character designers, and Go Sakabe (Date A Live IV) as music composer.

Other staff include Mitsuko Sekimoto (Mars Red) as color designer, Masakazu Miyake (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as art director, Ryo Sasaki (SD Gundam World Heroes) as CG director, and Mayuko Koike (WaveListen to Me) as photography director.

Kizuna no Allele will be released in 2023. The project was first announced in February at “hello, world 2022,” Kizuna Ai’s last live performance prior to her indefinite hiatus.

Ai, the first to use the term “virtual YouTuber,” began her YouTube activities in December 2016. Her A.I.Channel has over three million subscribers, while her A.I.Games channel has 1.47 million. Ai has also released music and made appearances on TV programs and ads. Her hiatus is meant to “update future activities with the goal of further developing Kizuna Ai.”
