#Glitch-plagued ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ misses sales forecasts

“Cyberpunk 2077” is starting to look like a cyber flunk.

The most anticipated video game of the year — which stars “Matrix” actor Keanu Reeves —missed sales estimates for its first 10 days, thanks in part to a flood of customers demanding refunds over the bugging, glitchy software.

Publisher CD Projekt said it sold 13 million “Cyberpunk 2077” copies between Dec. 10 and Dec. 20 — short of the 16.4 million units analysts had predicted as demand for video games skyrocket.

The futuristic role-playing game’s glitches have in some instances rendered the game unplayable on older consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The problems were so severe and widespread that Sony was forced to pull it from its PlayStation Store, while Xbox maker Microsoft has offered refunds.

The game’s troubled roll-out has sent CD Projekt’s shares down 40 percent since early December, when reports of the game’s seemingly unfinished state began making waves a week before its release.

On Wednesday, the US version of the Warsaw Stock Exchange-listed shares closed down 2 percent to $18.90.

CD Projekt has promised a slew of patches and fixes through February that it says will greatly improve the user experience.

“This figure represents the estimated volume of retail sales across all hardware platforms (factoring in returns),” CD Projekt said.
