#Kessoku Band Returns To THE FIRST TAKE To Perform Bocchi the Rock! Re:’s Opening Song

Bocchi the Rock!‘s Kessoku Band has appeared on YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE again to perform “Shine as usual,” one of the two tracks from the recent “Shine as usual / Now, I’m going from underground” single release.

“Shine as usual” (“Tsukinami ni Kagayake” in Japanese) is also the opening song of Bocchi the Rock! Re:, the recently released first part of a two-part Bocchi the Rock! compilation film.

Kessoku Band made its THE FIRST TAKE debut earlier this month to perform “Guitar, Loneliness and Blue Planet.” Both performances feature the vocals of voice actor Ikumi Hasegawa, who voices Kessoku Band vocalist Ikuyo Kita.

THE FIRST TAKE is a popular channel that features artists performing a song in just a single take.

The Bocchi the Rock! anime series began airing in October 2022 and ended with 12 episodes. Bocchi the Rock! Re: premiered in Japan on June 7, with Part 2,  Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:, to begin screening on August 9. The recaps have been licensed for a North American theatrical release.

The anime is based on the Houbunsha-published 4-koma manga by Aki Hamazi and follows the anxiety-ridden Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh, who becomes a skilled guitar player but remains socially awkward. Hitori’s life starts to change when she is invited to join a band led by the cheerful Nijika Ichiji. Aside from Hasegawa, the other Kessoku Band voice actors are Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori, Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika, and Saku Mizuno as Ryo Yamada.
