Kelis has shared her first new material in seven years. Check out the “Midnight Snacks” video above. A press release states that “Midnight Snacks” was recorded in a studio on a boat in London and produced by The FaNaTix (Giggs, Nicki Minaj, Popcaan).
“I heard the beat, thought it was dope, and the first thing that came to mind was ‘Midnight Snacks,'” Kelis said. “The FaNaTix were like, what are you talking about? And I was like, it makes you feel like a midnight snack! And that was it.”
Kelis’s most recent release was 2014 album Food. Since then she has released a cookbook (My Life on a Plate) and, in 2020, launched a weed-themed Netflix cooking show titled Cooked With Cannabis.
