#Keith Poole to take the helm at the New York Post Group

The deputy editor-in-chief of The Sun is crossing the Atlantic in March to head the New York Post Group as the paper grows its digital presence.

Keith Poole is the first person to be tapped as editor-in-chief of the New York Post Group, where he will oversee the two top editors, Stephen Lynch, editor-in-chief of the print edition, and Michelle Gotthelf, editor-in-chief of digital.

Poole joined The Sun in 2016 as digital editor, helping to build it into the UK’s largest digital-news brand. The London-based tabloid is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Post.

Prior to joining The Sun, Poole worked for more than a dozen years at the Daily Mail, another UK paper, including a stint as managing editor of the MailOnline in New York.

Col Allan, former editor-in-chief of The Post who has served as a senior adviser since 2019, will retire in early March.

“I’ve always admired the bold and brash journalism of the New York Post, and to now be a part of this legendary organization is a dream come true for a journalist like me,” Poole said in a statement
