The full main ending theme song for Wind Breaker Season 2 “It’s myself,” by Japanese three-piece rock band shytaupe, is set to debut on music streaming platforms on April 18, 2025. The song will be available to pre-add/pre-save on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify here, starting on April 10, 2025 at 9:00 PM JST.
Shytaupe provided the following statement on their latest single:
We are truly happy to be involved in the music for WIND BREAKER. The characters face themselves, experiencing confusion and pain, and in the process, they come to realize the importance of what they must protect and believe in. This journey helps them discover true strength.
We believe these songs represent not just their story, but ours as well. We are grateful to have encountered this work, which taught me the beauty of facing oneself, both for one’s own sake and for the sake of others. Thank you so much.
Shytaupe was formed in June 2022 by So Sasaki (lead vocals/guitar), Masaki Fukunaga (bass), and Takatoman (drums), who all met in college in Kyoto. The band has performed at several major festivals in Japan and has been actively touring across Japan. In July 2024, they made their major label debut.
The band’s first popular single “Rendezvous” was first released in April 2023, and gained significant attention in August of the same year. It reached the top spot on Spotify’s Viral Top 50 chart, accumulating around 300 million streams.
Meanwhile, Japanese boy band SixTONES is performing the second season’s main opening theme “BOYZ.”
Season two of Wind Breaker premiered in Japan on April 4, 2025 and is expected to air for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the second season in over 200 countries and territories worldwide, describing the main synopsis of season two as:
