#Kappei Yamaguchi & Jurota Kosugi Join Cast of Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! Anime Film
Voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi and Jurota Kosugi are joining the cast of the Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! anime film. The new film is scheduled to begin screening in Japan on January 24, 2025.
Yamaguchi will voice Aye-aye, a cute purple creature that was first seen on Wombat’s head in the film’s first teaser trailer released last month.
Kosugi will voice Deathamor, a mysterious character whose appearance and true identity remains unknown.
They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Kazutomi Yamamoto as Yumoto Hakone
- • Kotaro Nishiyama as Atsushi Kinugawa
- • Mugihito as Wombat
- • Toshiki Masuda as Ryu Zaō
- • Yuichiro Umehara as En Yufuin
- • Yusuke Shirai as Io Naruko
Shinji Takamatsu (returning) is directing the anime film, with Michiko Yokote (previously series composer and co-screenwriter) as screenwriter, Chizuru Miyawaki (previously design concept artist, Season 1 assistant director, et al.) as original character designer, and Chiko Miyagawa (Season 2 sub-character designer, costume designer, prop designer) as character designer. Studio Comet is in charge of the animation production.
The first season of Cute High Earth Defense Club premiered in 2015, with Diomedéa handling the animation production. It was followed by two more seasons: LOVE! LOVE! in 2016 and HAPPY KISS! In 2018. Each season contained 12 episodes and the series has 26 episodes overall. Studio Comet was the animation production company for the latter two seasons.
An OVA titled Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! was released in 2017.
The series also inspired a light novel in January 2015, a manga adaptation that was released from 2014 to 2015, and a mobile video game in February 2015.

The story revolves around the members of the “Earth Defense Club” aka the “Do Nothing Club” at Binan High School. One day, the club members are soaking in a hot bath together when all of a sudden a mysterious pink wombat appears out of thin air! The wombat asks the members to lend it their help to protect the Earth. At school the next day, each of the club members receives a magical bracelet enveloping them in a dazzling light.
