#Kanye West sues Wisconsin State Election Commission to get on ballot

Kanye West is suing to get on the presidential ballot in Wisconsin, claiming he met the state’s deadline with seconds to spare, the Hill reported Saturday.

West filed a lawsuit in Brown County asking the local court to put him and running mate Michelle Tidwell on the ballot in November.

The Wisconsin Election Commission rejected the rapper’s bid to appear on the state’s ballot, claiming he missed a 5 p.m. deadline to submit paperwork.

But the rapper’s camp insists in court papers the deadline actually expires at 5:01 p.m. — and that he made it by filing his paperwork at 14 seconds after 5 p.m., according to the report.

West has already secured spots on the presidential ballot in states including Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Utah and Vermont.

West, a former supporter of President Trump, said earlier this month that he doesn’t deny his campaign could damage former Vice President Joe Biden’s White House bid.

Wisconsin is one of the most competitive swing states in the country. Trump won there over Hillary Clinton by a little more than 20,000 votes in 2016.
