The production team for Kaitou Queen wa Circus ga Osuki has released a new main trailer for the theatrical OVA. The film will premiere in Japanese theaters on June 17, 2021. 

The 65-second trailer showcases some of the OVA’s main characters, including the titular Queen, voiced by former Takarazuka actress Yuuga Yamato. The trailer also uses the theme song “Gyakuten no Regina,” performed by Okayama singer/songwriter Little Black Dress. 

Additional voice cast members for Kaitou Queen wa Circus ga Osuki include Kazuki Katou as Joker, Yuuma Uchida as RD, Toshiyuki Morikawa as White Face, Makoto Furukawa as Shamon Saitou, Yuri Noguchi as Silver Cat Hitomi, Hinata Tadokoro as Jean-Paul, Yuusuke Shirai as Styley Inoue, and Natsu Yorita as Beast. 

Other voice actors for the OVA are Hironori Kondou as Prism Prism, Hiromichi Tezuka as Joe Sesame, Shinya Takahashi as Rocketman, Yuuya Hirose as Koutarou Saionji, Ayaka Shimizu as Mari Itou, Jin Urayama as Inspector Jouetsu, and Kento Itou as Shintarou Iwashimizu. 

Saori Den (Recovery of An MMO Junkie assistant director) is directing the OVA film while  Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm) is writing the screenplay. Kumiko Kawashima (Assault Lily: Bouquet animation director) is the film’s character designer and Moe Hyuuga (If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die) is composing the music score. East Fish Studio is handling the animation production. 

Kaitou Queen wa Circus ga Osuki is based on the mystery adventure novel series by Kaoru Hayamine. It has been published under Kodansha’s Aoitori Bunko children’s imprint since 2002 and features illustrations by K2 Shoukai. 15 volumes have been published in total as of April 28, 2022.

In a world filled with airships, the Kaitou Queen is someone who never fails to steal what they are after. Their age and gender is unknown. However, a mysterious circus troupe appears, with magicians, hypnotists, and those with other special powers in its ranks. The circus troupe manages to steal the gem that Kaitou Queen is after, and challenges Kaitou Queen to a contest.
