Crazy Ex-Girlfriend TV show on The CW: (canceled or renewed?)

Julia is adding a familiar face for season two. Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, above) is joining the HBO Max series which is loosely based on the life of chef and television host Julia Child and her long-running series, The French Chef.

Created by Daniel Goldfarb, the biographical drama stars Sarah Lancashire, David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, and Fiona Glascott. The series debuted in March and was renewed for a second season in May.

Variety revealed the following about Bloom’s upcoming role in the HBO Max series:

Bloom will appear in a recurring role as Elaine Levitch. The character is described as “a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on The French Chef.”

A premiere date for Julia season two will be announced later.
