#Joe Biden finally says he’ll take a stand on court-packing — eventually

Joe Biden shifted slightly Thursday night on his refusal to say where he stands on court-packing: He still won’t say, but now he vows he will level with the public before Election Day.

People “do have a right to know where I’ll stand and they’ll have a right to know where I stand before they vote,” Biden at ABC’s town hall. Oops: Thanks to early and mail-in voting, millions of Americans are casting their ballots now.

And he still hasn’t actually said, claiming only that he’s not a fan of the idea but is “open to considering what happens” if the Senate confirms Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

This follows weeks when he said voters “don’t deserve” to know his position, calling the issue a Trump campaign effort to “distract” voters from “the real issues.”

All this, by the way, is in stark contrast to Biden’s take on an issue where he’s blatantly flip-flopped.

He vowed during the primaries to ban fracking nationwide. But he now insists, “I’m not, not, not banning fracking. Period,” as he recently told union members in Pennsylvania — where a ban would kill countless jobs.

Plainly, Biden only wants to take a clear stand when he’s cleaning up his own mess.
