#Jennifer Lopez Repackages Tour Due Following Low Ticket Sales

Jennifer Lopez has repackage her This Is Me…Now Tour as a “Greatest Hits” concert series after the tour generated low ticket sales.

On Wednesday (April 3), NME reported that the trek’s official name has been amended to This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits. Live Nation’s listings, however, has not been updated as of this writing.

The Bronx native’s team hasn’t issued a statement regarding the name change either, so it isn’t clear is she plans on bringing back or making up for the shows she recently cancelled.

Earlier this month, Variety revealed that the 54-year-old axed seven dates of her upcoming run, affecting ticket-holders in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans and Houston.

The notice to those who were hoping to attend shows in the aforementioned cities simply read: “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund.”

Though 30 dates remain on the itinerary, the report noted that “large numbers” of tickets still haven’t been purchased.

Earlier this year, La Lopez released her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now as part of a new deal she signed with BMG last year. The LP is a follow-up to 2002’s This is Me…Then, which spawned blockbusters such as “Jenny From the Block” with Styles P and Jadakiss and “All I Have” with LL COOL J.

In HipHopDX‘s 2.3/5 review of the sequel, Will Schube wrote: “As with any album that involves hordes of songwriters, A&Rs and producers, there are plenty of good ideas on here. Most of them, though, sound like they could be sung by anyone.

“For all of the time, money, and energy J.Lo and her team put into the theatrical accompaniment to This is Me… Now, it would have behooved all involved to spend a little more time on the music that the film was meant to accompany.

This is Me… Now hears Jennifer Lopez constantly tell fans how great her love life is. She rarely bothers to explain why.”
