#Jena Sims, Brooks Koepka’s girlfriend, tests negative for coroanvirus

Jena Sims announced Wednesday she has tested negative for coronavirus, the same day boyfriend Brooks Koepka withdrew from the Travelers Championship after caddie Ricky Elliott had tested positive for the lethal bug.

“My test came back negative, thankfully,” the model posted to her Instagram story. “We are safely headed home.”

Earlier in the day, Koepka — ranked No. 4 in the world — said while he hasn’t “tested positive for COVID-19,” he isn’t taking the situation lightly.

“I haven’t tested positive for COVID-19, but as I’ve said all along, I’m taking this very seriously,” Koepka shared on Instagram.

“I don’t want to do anything that might jeopardize the health of any player in the field or his ability to compete. The right thing to do right now is get home, support Ricky and feel confident that I’m doing what I can do protecting my fellow TOUR members, my PGA TOUR friends and everyone associated with the Travelers Championship this week,” the golfer continued.

In addition to Koepka and his brother Chase, fellow golfers Graeme McDowell and Webb Simpson have also stepped back from the tournament due to coronavirus concerns. McDowell’s caddie also tested positive, while a family member of Webb’s had contracted the novel virus.

Golfer Cameron Champ also withdrew Tuesday after testing positive.

The Travelers Championship is slated to get underway Thursday at the TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.
