Smile, Mets fans. Jeff McNeil is coming back to Queens and it doesn’t appear like he will be rusty.

At least, his bat flip seems to be in midseason form.

The All-Star infielder appears to be getting in some good work in advance of spring training 2.0 starting up Wednesday at Citi Field, in videos he posted on Instagram. The Wahoos Indoor Baseball League also posted one of McNeil facing Yankees prospect Matt Sauer, the team’s second-round pick in 2017, in a batting cage. In one video, McNeil connects and flips his bat to the ground.

“Baseball is back! Last couple live bp sessions before headed back to NY!!!,” McNeil wrote on his Instagram account Friday along with one of the videos. “LFGM!! #cagebombs #ilikehittingsinglestoo”

The versatile 28-year-old Californian is coming off a huge season for the Mets, in which he batted .318 with 23 home runs, 75 RBIs and a .916 OPS. He’s expected to have a regular position this year at third base after seeing time in the outfield and infield at a variety of spots a year ago.

Sauer went 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA for Single-A Charleston in 2019, but was limited to just 8.2 innings due to Tommy John Surgery.
