Senior adviser to the president Ivanka Trump volunteered to appear live on “The View” to take a coronavirus vaccine after co-host Joy Behar vowed to not take the inoculation until the first daughter did.

President Trump’s elder daughter pledged to appear on the ABC program in a tweet Thursday, one day after Behar remarked that she did not believe the commander-in-chief’s claims that a vaccine for the deadly virus would be ready soon.

“He will push anything to get re-elected. Don’t fall for it. And by the way, I will take the vaccine after Ivanka takes it,” the liberal co-host quipped during Wednesday’s show.

“Deal @JoyVBehar. I would come on your show to do so. I trust the FDA and so should all Americans. Vanquishing this virus should be our collective top priority,” Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday morning.

Behar, a staunch Trump critic on the daytime talk show, told the audience that she had “looked all this up for you” before explaining that she did not believe a vaccine could be ready quickly given the history of vaccine production.

“As far as the vaccine is concerned, I’d like to inform America — in case we don’t know this because I looked all this up for you — the mumps vaccine took four years, the polio vaccine took 20 years, and the smallpox vaccine took a few centuries,” Behar argued.

“It was developed initially in 1796, when they started to think about it, and it became useful in the 1950s, OK?” she said of the smallpox vaccine, adding, “It is not a simple thing to do. He will push anything to get re-elected. Don’t fall for it.”

While it is not yet clear when a coronavirus vaccine will be ready for the masses, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, said Tuesday that an inoculation could be ready by “the end of the year.”

President Trump has repeatedly touted the speed at which multiple COVID-19 vaccines have been developed, saying during a White House press conference Monday, “We’ve done an incredible job, and in speed like nobody’s ever seen before.”
