#Jared Padalecki’s New Partner Is ‘American Gods’ Star Ashley Reyes

Ashley Reyes, best known for her roles in How I Met Your Father and American Gods, is set to join The CW‘s Walker as a series regular.

According to Deadline, Reyes will make her first appearance in the next episode, premiering on March 3, playing Walker’s (Jared Padalecki) new partner, Cassie. She takes over from Lindsay Morgan, who departed the crime-drama earlier this season due to personal reasons.

Cassie is described as a “spirited, uncensored, strong Texas Ranger” who is “unconventional, wily, and quick on her feet.” She served as a Texas state trooper for 8 years before becoming a Texas Ranger, and as one of the only women in her field, she knows the odds are stacked against her. But rather than toe the line, Cassie has her own ideas of how things should be done.

Reyes is currently starring in Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, a spinoff of the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother. She is perhaps best known for portraying Cordelia in the Starz series American Gods. Her previous credits include the children’s television program Kid Fitness and the pilot of Family Values. Reyes will next be seen in the horror movie Slayers.

The CW’s Walker is a reboot of the 1990s western drama series Walker, Texas Ranger, and stars Padalecki as the titular Cordell Walker. The series follows Walker, a widower and father of two, after he returns home to Austin after a lengthy undercover assignment.

In addition to Padalecki and Reyes, the series stars Molly Hagan as Abeline Walker, Keegan Allen as Liam Walker, Coby Bell as Captain Larry James, Mitch Pileggi as Bonham Walker, Odette Annable as Geraldine “Geri” Broussard, Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett, Violet Brinson as Stella Walker, and Kale Culley as August Walker.
