#KimiZero Heroine Wears A Yukata in New Visual

A new visual for the upcoming Keikenzumi na Kimi to, Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiaisuru Hanashi anime adaptation has been released, depicting heroine Runa Shirakawa in a yukata and a candy apple in her hand while fireworks explode in the background.

Aptly, the new promotional illustration, which is the latest of the show’s monthly seasonal-themed visuals, is called the “yukata visual.” Some of the previous visuals include the “Easter visual,” “Cherry Blossom Viewing visual,” and “Valentine visual.”

KimiZero will premiere sometime this year. The anime is based on Makiko Nagaoka‘s teen romance light novel series, which began in 2020 and has six volumes as of March 2023. The books, which are illustrated by Magako and published under Kadokawa’s Fantasia Bunko label, follow the relationship between the gloomy Ryuto Kashima and the popular Runa Shirakawa, who end up dating each other after the former is forced to confess to the latter in a punishment game.

Hideaki Ooba (Love of Kill) is directing KimiZero at ENGI with Hiroko Fukuda (Taisho Otome Fairy Tale) as series composer, Yousuke Itou (Management of a Novice Alchemist) as character designer, and Kei Haneoka as music composer. Ryuto and Runa are voiced by Natsuki Hanae and Saori Oonishi, respectively.

The light novels have also inspired a Square Enix-published manga adaptation by Carpaccio Noyama, which began serialization in 2022.
