#Mari Okada-written Original Movie Dog Star to be Screened at Konica Minolta Planetarium in Nagoya

The grand opening of Konica Minolta Planetarium Manten NAGOYA is scheduled for the fall of 2021. And an original movie Dog Star: Kimi to Miageru Fuyu no Seiza-tachi (Winter Constellations to Look Up With You) is decided to be screened as its opening work.

Konica Minolta Planetarium Manten is a planetarium owned by the Japanese multinational technology company Konika Minolta, and its first facility was opened in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, in 1978. As its new facility, Konica Minolta Planetarium Manten NAGOYA has been under construction in Nagoya-city, Aichi Prefecture, and it will be a planetarium dome theater using Japan’s first LED dome system “DYNAVISION-LED,” which uses self-luminous LED elements instead of the current mainstream system using a projector.

Dog Star: Kimi to Miageru Fuyu no Seiza-tachi is based on an original story written by Mari Okagda, known for her script writing works for Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (2011) and The Anthem of the Heart (2015). Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito in JUJUTSU KAISEN) voices Kosuke Uekawa, a boy who loves stars, while Yuma Uchida (Kyo Souma in Fruits Basket) voices Natsuki Endo, a member of the track and field team.

The theme song is performed by Keina Suda, also known as Vocaloid-P Balloon, whose representative song “Charles” has recorded a total of 100 million views on YouTube. And the characters are designed by Rella (Hatsune Miku Symphony series), an illustrator specializing in delicate colors and unique luminescent expressions.

Synopsis:

Kousuke, a boy who loves stars, failed his high school entrance exam. He reluctantly enrolls at his second-choice school, where he meets Natsuki, a member of the track and field team. He compares the brilliance of Natsuki to that of Sirius, the first magnitude star that shines with a fierce intensity. Kousuke thinks Natsuki is not the same as him, who is only the second magnitude star with little presence… However, the fate of the two twinkling stars is about to change drastically…
