Aniplex has released a full-length trailer for the upcoming Ayakashi Triangle anime adaptation that previews the show’s supernatural gender-bending premise and main voice cast.

The video also provides a sneak peek of the ending theme song “Itowanai” by MIMiNARI feat. Miyu Tomita and Kana Ichinose and the opening theme song “Neppuu wa Rutensuru” by Philosophy no Dance.  A January 9 Japanese premiere date (effectively January 10 at 1:05 AM JST) was revealed as well.

Ayakashi Triangle is based on the “ayakashi love fantasy” manga from Black Cat creator and To-Love Ru artist Kentarou Yabuki. The Shueisha-published manga began in 2020 and has 10 tankoubon volumes as of September 2022. It is serialized on Shonen Jump+ and published under the Jump Comics label.

Matsuri Kazamaki’s job as an exorcist ninja means that his livelihood depends on driving away the ayakashi spirits who endanger humans. He’s been protecting his childhood friend, Suzu Kanade, from the shadows for years, as she effortlessly attracts ayakashi. What will happen when Suzu encounters a creature who looks like a simple cat, but who is really Shirogane, the king of ayakashi?

The anime’s staff includes Noriaki Akitaya (The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest) as director, Kei Umabiki (ClassicaLoid Season 2 director) as assistant director, Shougo Yasukawa (The Executioner and Her Way of Life) as series composer, Hideki Furukawa (“Azur Lane x The Idolmaster” collab short anime PV, Strike the Blood III co-character designer) as character designer, and Rei Ishizuka (A Couple of Cuckoos) as music composer. CONNECT is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Shoya Chiba as Matsuri Kazemaki (Male), Miyu Tomita as Matsuri Kazemaki (Female), Kana Ichinose as Suzu Kanade, Tesshou Genda as Shirogane.
