The Los Angeles Rams cornerback agreed to a monster extension on Wednesday morning worth $105 million over five years, according to several reports. The $21 million per year makes Ramsey the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.
Ramsey was traded from the Jaguars in the middle of the 2019 season after falling out with team management. The Rams sent two first-round picks to Jacksonville in exchange for his services.
Los Angeles will likely have to do some maneuvering in the coming years to work through their extremely high cap number. They already gave record-setting deals (at the time) to Jared Goff, Aaron Donald and Todd Gurley in the past two seasons. They then cut Gurley and will eat $22 million of dead money over the next two seasons.
