Guy Ritchie says, “Jake Gyllenhaal is a fantastic talent. At last, I have found a perfect project on which we can collaborate.” STX’s John Friedberg commented, “This will be our third collaboration with Guy and STX is proud to be in a position to support extraordinary filmmakers like him, especially when working with such strong material – I’m thrilled that we were able to put this film together alongside Ivan and Josh.”
“Guy Ritchie (Snatch, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) is one of the most beloved directors in Russia. Supporting a top global filmmaker with a massive following in Russia is a key strategic step for Kinopoisk as we commence developing and co-producing international projects. We are excited to begin our relationship with Guy, Josh and Ivan on such an important film,” added Olga Filipuk, executive producer for Yandex-owned, Russian streamer Kinopoisk to Deadline. This will be the first time the Russian streaming service will finance an international A-list production.
“Guy and Jason have repeatedly impressed audiences with their collaborations, and we’re looking forward to bringing this production to the city of Doha, Qatar, a growing market in the entertainment and media space,” said Nasser Al-Khelaifi, chairman of Miramax-owner beIN Media Group. “This film marks our third collaboration with Guy Ritchie, adding to our expanding list of nearly 20 projects having been released or currently in production since beIN’s acquisition of Miramax – a testament to our continued success achieving the target goals we set forth for the studio’s evolution while remaining committed to prioritizing investments in innovative and culturally relevant films.”
Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham have made Snatch, Revolver and Wrath of Man. Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre sees super spy Orson Fortune (Statham) and his team of top operatives (Aubrey Plaza, Bugzy Malone, and Cary Elwes) recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star, Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett), to help them on an undercover mission to stop billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant) from selling a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order.
You can catch Jake Gyllenhaal in The Guilty on Netflix, and his action crime thriller Ambulance opens April 8. Guy Ritchie and Jake Gyllenhaal are currently filming in Spain.
