“#It’s a Wonderful Life All-Star Table Read Pays Tribute to Ed Asner”
Hosted by Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars, Star Trek: Enterprise), the 2021 Zoom virtual table read is in partnership with Turner Classic Movies, sponsored by MeTV and will be a tribute to the life and legacy of Ed Asner. A TikTok live Q&A with the cast will immediately follow the table read, broadcast on The Ed Asner Family Center account, where TikTok users will be able to submit live questions for the cast.
In celebration of Giving Tuesday, purchase your tickets for a magical night loaded with family-friendly entertainment. The live table read will include surprise musical performances by Wallows, a silent auction featuring vacation packages and collectible Hollywood memorabilia along with a sweepstakes loaded with holiday gift ideas! The silent auction will be live on December 1. As part of TikTok’s #GivingSzn initiative, the Ed Asner Family Center donation button is now live on TikTok, which can be easily added to individual accounts. Proceeds benefit The Ed Asner Family Center (TEAFC), which promotes mental health and enrichment programs to individuals with special needs and their families.
In addition to the Ed Asner tribute, the event will honor Mike Darnell, President of Unscripted and Alternative Television at Warner Brothers, along with his family. The cast will include Mike’s daughter and Social Director of TEAFC, Chelsea Darnell, autistic actors Naomi Rubin, Spencer Harte and Domonique Brown (TV’s Atypical) along with neurodivergent TEAFC members Ryan Booth and Lucas Salusky who all all actively participate in expressive enrichment programs at the Center. Victor Nelli (TV’s Superstore, Brooklyn Nine Nine) will return to direct.
The Ed Asner Family Center is a one-stop shop for neurodivergent individuals and their families seeking wholeness in all attitudes of life. The Center acts as an oasis of balance and thought, of interaction and education. Most importantly, The Center gives children and adults of all levels of ability a chance at dignity, confidence, and self-respect. At The Ed Asner Family Center, they not only cater to the needs of the neurodivergent individual, they aim to enroll the complete family and help them meet the challenges they face with grace.
