Frontier Works (Animate group) has announced that the complete Blu-ray box of the Sonic Soldier Borgman anime series is set to be released in Japan at the price of 35,200 yen (288 USD) on June 29, 2022.

The sci-fi action TV anime produced by Ashi Productions (Magical Princess Minky Momo, Dancouga – Super Beast Machine God) was aired for 35 episodes from April to December 1988. The characters designed by Michitaka Kikuchi (Silent Möbius manga author Kia Asamiya) were extremely popular with anime fans at the time, and two OVA episodes and a three-episode sequel OVA series Sonic Soldier Borgman II: New Century 2058 were produced. In addition to the OVAs, the box will also include a collection of music videos, entitled “MADNIGHT☆GIGS,” which have never before been released on DVD.

As bonus contents, the box will come with a special booklet that contains staff Interview with director Hiroshi Negishi and animation director Shin Matsuo, a video jacket gallery, as well as a main character setting book (reduced-size replica edition) and an original key art drawing correction book (reduced-size replica edition).
