TCL is kicking off the new year and CES with a slew of affordable gadgets, including its first-ever laptop. Yes, the TCL Book14 GO is the brand’s first laptop, which runs Windows 11 and will retail for only $349 when it arrives later this year. Then, the company has several impressive new budget-friendly 5G smartphones headed to Verizon and T-Mobile.

In 2021 TCL attacked the US market with a set of cheap Android phones, a tablet that undercut Samsung, and more, and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. And while its phones certainly aren’t high-end, they offer all the usual bells and whistles at affordable price points.

Announced at CES 2022 is the all-new TCL Book14 Go, a 14-inch Windows 11 laptop built to help you get more done without breaking the bank. Given the low $349 price point, TCL’s first laptop comes with a 14-inch 720p HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c chip for computers, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Buyers will also enjoy an array of peripheral options, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB A/C ports, a MicroSD slot, and a 1MP front-facing camera for Zoom calls.

The company also confirmed it’ll offer fast PD USB-C charging and upwards of 10-12 hours per charge. As you can see, this is very much the definition of a budget Windows laptop. You’re not getting the latest and greatest premium designs, a fast 8-core processor, nor upwards of 16GB of RAM. However, this is certainly a compelling-looking device for students or those on a budget and lines up nicely with other budget offerings from HP and Dell.

During the announcement at CES, TCL confirmed that its first-ever laptop should retail for around $349 and be available in select regions starting in Q2 of 2022.

Then, TCL didn’t stop with the laptop and shared the news regarding a trio of affordable Android smartphones headed for Verizon and T-Mobile.

Building on the success of devices like the TCL 20 Pro 5G and other mid-range phones, today, TCL unveiled the new TCL 30 V 5G for Verizon and the TCL 30 XE 5G for T-Mobile. Both devices offer large, vibrant HD displays, plenty of power, triple rear cameras, and 5G speeds.

First up is TCL’s latest 5G-ready phone for Verizon Wireless. The new TCL 30 V 5G offers a big 6.67-inch 1080p HD display, Android 11, a micro-SD slot, and 128GB of storage. In addition, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s entry-level Snapdragon 480 processor and 4GB of RAM, meaning we can expect a reasonably cheap price point.

As you can see, the TCL 30 V 5G comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and those triple cameras include a primary 50MP sensor for improved photography. Better yet, this phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, something of a rarity these days, a large 4,500 mAh battery, and 18w fast-charging technology. It supports Verizon UWB 5G and will be available in the coming weeks. TCL didn’t share pricing, but we’ll know more soon.

Additionally, those on T-Mobile can opt for the new TCL 30 XE 5G, which should be even more affordable, yet has a few fancy upgrades along with support for T-Mobile and Metro. This device packs a slightly smaller 6.52-inch 720p HD display with a higher 90Hz refresh rate. You’ll also get a lower-end 13MP primary camera, along with two more 2MP rear cameras for macro and depth-sensing.

Just like the earlier option, T-Mobile’s TCL 30 XE 5G comes with a large 4,500 mAh battery, 18w fast charging, 3.5mm headphone jack, 64GB of storage, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It’s an interesting package of both new and old tech, and will likely be pretty affordable when it arrives in the coming weeks.

TCL didn’t share release dates for any of these products and only briefly mentioned the price of its new laptop, so stay tuned for more details. The company also shared details on a new TCL Tab 8 4G, TCL Tab 10L, and some NXTWEAR Air VR glasses for the European market.
