#India’s JioCinema Adds Demon Slayer Season 4, Spy X Family, and More With New Anime Hub

Indian streaming platform JioCinema has announced the introduction of Anime Hub, which brings shows like Spy x Family and Classroom of the Elite to the service starting May 12. Headlining its new anime slate is the simulcast of the soon-to-debut fourth season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc.

Other shows that subscribers can expect to see include Mob Pyscho 100, Tokyo Revengers, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Junji Ito Maniac

“With an aim of growing the Otaku (anime fan) community in India, the offering will be home to a curated selection of hits and hidden gems, all available in an ultimate ad-free experience with offline viewing options,” said JioCinema’s press release.

It adds that “Animayhem will continue to thrill its fans with new content everyday across the month” with anime like Bofuri: I Hate Getting Hurt, So I Put All My Skill Points Into Defense, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, The Familiar of Zero, Goblin Slayer, and In/Spectre.

The Anime Hub is part of the JioCinema Premium package, which costs Rs29 (~US$0.35) a month for a single device (Rs89 or ~US$1.07 for four) and offers 4K viewing. JioCinema Premium’s other content include dubbed international titles, family-oriented entertainment, original shows, and more.

A JioCinema Spokesperson said, “From simulcast real-time global releases to hundreds of hours of top Anime titles, we are confident that JioCinema’s Anime Hub will grow to become a destination of choice for anime fans in India.”

In May 2023, the Viacom18-owned JioCinema broke the global record for highest concurrent views for a livestreamed event with the finale of the Indian Premier League (it was beaten the same year by previous record holder Disney Hotstar with the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final). Sports and live programs are not part of the Premium subscription.
