#How to watch Canelo-Yildirim: Time, odds, fight card

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez holds the WBA (Super), WBC and Ring magazine titles.

On Saturday, Feb. 27, he’ll put two of them on the line against mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim. The fight will air on DAZN.

Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) heads into the fight against the Turkish pugilist a heavy favorite and arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. The Mexican, a formidable body-puncher and counterpunch artist, is nine weeks removed from dealing Callum Smith his first career defeat, and already has multiple fights lined up for the next few months.

Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs), who has lost his two biggest bouts so far to Chris Eubank Jr. and Anthony Dirrell, has designs on foiling Canelo’s big 2021 plans. The massive underdog’s chance to take down a champion has mesmerized his homeland.

“[Yildirim] says he will shock the world, but for him to even get to this point, he has already shocked the world,” Yildirim’s promoter, Ahmet Oner, said at a Feb. 11 press conference. “Because on the other side, it’s Canelo Alvarez. It’s like facing Ronaldo or Messi in soccer. For a Turkish boxer to appear on a stage like this, understand that he is talented. In Turkish sports, we have never been able to get to a position like this.”
