Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2 is set to continue the romantic comedy experiences of college student Kazuya Kinoshita and rental girlfriend Chizuru Ichinose in July. A teaser trailer and visual for the upcoming new season have been released in addition to the release date announcement.

A special illustration by the manga’s author Reiji Miyajima was also released. A physical copy is being offered as the prize for a Twitter campaign.

The first season of Rent-A-Girlfriend premiered in July 2020. Returning staff for the second season include Kazuomi Koga as director, Mitsutaka Hirota as series composer, Kanna Hirayama as character designer, Fumiko Ishiguro as color designer, Minoru Akiba as art director, Shintarou Sakai as photography director, and Kenichi Maeyamada/Hyadain as music composer. TMS Entertainment is in charge of the animation production.

Reprising their roles are Shun Horie as Kazuya Kinoshita, Sora Amamiya as Chizuru Mizuhara, Aoi Yuuki as Mami Nanami, Nao Touyama as Ruka Sarashina, and Rie Takahashi as Sumi Sakurasawa.

The manga began in 2017 and has 24 tankoubon volumes as of December 2021. It is serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and published under the Kodansha Comics label. A spin-off series centered on supporting character Sumi Sakurasawa began in 2020.

Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. “Ugh… Damn it.
