#BAFTA Film Awards Nominations Unveiled (Updating Live)

The BAFTA Film Awards 2025 nominations are being unveiled in London on Wednesday. Jacques Audiard’s Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez and Edward Berger’s Conclave led the longlists, unveiled at the beginning of the year, with 15 and 14, respectively. Among the other leaders of the longlists were A Complete UnknownThe Brutalist, and The Substance.

For Vatican drama Conclave, the longlist noms included leading actor and supporting actor nods for Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci, respectively. Meanwhile, Emilia Pérez earned actress and supporting actress noms for Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldana, and Selena Gomez, among others.

Last week, BAFTA unveiled Anora star Mikey Madison, David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), Marisa Abela (Back to Black), Jharrel Jerome (Unstoppable), and Nabhaan Rizwan (In Camera) among its 2025 Rising Star nominees.

The rest of the nominations are being unveiled mid-day Wednesday by Will Sharpe and Mia McKenna Bruce via a global livestream from BAFTA’s headquarters in London. Winners will be honored during the Feb. 16 ceremony hosted by Scottish star David Tennant. BAFTA is the U.K.’s largest film industry voting body with 8,100 creative practitioners from all corners of the U.K. and global film industry.

As the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires rage on, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to reconfigure its Oscar season timetable out of sensitivity to members in Southern California, which is home to some 60 percent of its roughly 10,000 members. The Oscar nominations voting window, which began at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Jan. 8, had been extended until 5 p.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 17. And the Oscar nominations announcement, was originally scheduled for 5:30 a.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 17, was first pushed back to Sunday, Jan. 19 and is now scheduled to take place at 5:30 a.m. PT on Thursday, Jan. 23.
